Our Story

Conservakids is the creation of two college friends, Kevin Killingsworth and Robert Roark, who each have families of their own, but the story of Conservakids is generations in the making. Ideals such as liberty, faith, courage, individualism, self-reliance, and equality were etched into the American character as our ancestors carved a nation out of this vast continent. Our books seek to impart these bedrock American values to the next generation at an early age.

The United States of America is an exceptional nation!

If you’re like us, you have watched with unease the decline of American culture over the past two decades.

You’ve probably wondered how best to communicate the patriotism that was prevalent during your own childhood. For us, that was the 1980s and 1990s – born of the sacrifice and wisdom of our grandparents, the Greatest Generation, and an American President who put freedom on the offensive once again.

Conservakids enables you to clearly communicate timeless American ideals to your children, so they will be empowered to carry the torch of freedom to the next generation of Americans without apology.

After Kevin’s grandparents passed away, he found a box of their important documents and treasured photographs. Among them was an envelope that contained the following quotation:

“I do not choose to be a common man. It is my right to be uncommon. I seek to develop whatever talents God gave me—not security. I do not wish to be a kept citizen, humbled and dulled by having the state look after me. I want to take the calculated risk; to dream and to build, to fail and to succeed. I refuse to barter incentive for a dole.

I prefer the challenges of life to the guaranteed existence; the thrill of fulfillment to the stale calm of utopia. I will not trade freedom for beneficence nor my dignity for a handout. I will never cower before any earthly master nor bend to any threat. It is my heritage to stand erect, proud and unafraid; to think and act myself, enjoy the benefit of my creations and to face the world boldly and say – ‘This, with God’s help, I have done.’ All this is what it means to be an American.”

This quote embodies the American spirit that we remember in our grandparents – a spirit of independence and optimism; an appreciation for the freedom and opportunity found in this great land.
